1. DB 101: Improving Access to Enhance Learning for Students with Dual Sensory Impairment or Multiple Disabilities Including Sensory Impairment

    Target Audience: Cohorts of teacher –paraprofessional teams and/or other team members or individuals (e.g., teachers, parents, related services providers, etc.).

    An introductory, online intervener services training for parents, educational team members, and others working with children with deafblindness, a sensory disability, or multiple disabilities is scheduled from Oct. 23, 2017 – Jan., 6, 2018. The on-line training is based on the National Center on Deaf-Blindness Open Hands, Open Access (OHOA) intervener modules. Participants will learn techniques and strategies that will enhance communication with individuals with deafblindness.
  2. Specialized Techniques for Students with Dual Sensory Impairment or Multiple Disabilities Including Sensory Impairment for Home, School, and in the Community

    This online, intervener services course is based on the National Center on Deaf- Blindness Open Hands, Open Access (OHOA) modules and is scheduled from Nov. 6, 2017-Jan. 20, 2018. Focusing on techniques and strategies, the course modules enhance the skills of educators to use when communicating with individuals with deafblindness, a sensory disability, or multiple disabilities. Target participants include cohorts of teacher –paraprofessional teams and/or other team members or individuals (e.g., teachers, parents, related services providers, etc.).
